Both sides grew weary, and the battle paused. It's said that from Shiva's sweat, a giant was born whose allegiance was uncertain. This giant, believed to be Shiva's son, had an insatiable appetite and consumed everything in sight. To resolve the chaos caused by his relentless hunger, the deities and demons joined forces and pinned the giant to the ground in specific directions.
According to the legend, Vishnu granted the giant the status of VastuPurush, who would be worshipped before any construction and offered the first meal to satisfy his hunger. This tale, hence, forms the basis of Vastu Shastra!
